About Marilia

Driven by her passion for seeing people feel better and achieve results, Dr. Marilia Libera draws upon personal and professional experience to address her clients’ issues. She understands and appreciates that it takes courage to make the decision to address personal problems and to seek professional help.

Marilia’s ability to connect with her clients on a personal level as well as from a neuroscientific perspective allows her to build safe, trusting and therapeutic relationships. Her clients feel accepted, valued and not judged while they collaboratively set goals for therapy.

Passionate about tailoring therapy for each individual rather than using a “one size fits all” approach, Marilia has an open and sensitive therapeutic style that respects individual differences. As a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a variety of emotional, behavioral and psychological issue, Marilia works on providing clients with tools and strategies that they can transfer from the therapy room to “real life”.

Dr. Libera has experienced first hand the struggles and complexities of migrating to a different country, and understands the difficulties individuals and families may go through while living in Australia. Born in Brazil (speaking Portuguese), and migrating to Australia ten years ago, Dr. Libera has also lived in Japan for seven years, giving her an intimate understanding of Japanese and Asian cultures, and the unique challenges they face migrating to Australia.

Marilla offers in-office, teleconference and online counselling.
